I've taken 3 photos of life preservers in the past year. You know, there's just something about them that I'm drawn to.
Lately, I felt like I've needed a life preserver thrown to me! With my mom's health troubles, Brad being laid off, his father passing away, the pressures of; homeschool Noah, work, taking care of the homestead, the family and all the while trying to retain some sort of sanity. I must admit, life has been a challenge lately! I guess we all go through times like this. It's really how we handle ourselves through the rough times that matters.
But, Spring is here!!! My mom is home and feeling better, I've managed to pay all our bills on time this month on 1/3 of our normal income (blessed be) don't ask me how. I've signed Noah up for his spring homeschool classes and summer camps.
Noah is really excited about a new hobby he wants to start called Geocaching, but we're starting with Letterboxing which doesn't require a GPS, just a compass and we already have a compass. When things get better, we'll invest in a GPS and start geocaching then.
Noah read a book called Let's go Geocaching/A Boy's Life Reader and was so excited about it. It would be fun to start a small homeschool geocaching/letterboxing group of friends.
So tomorrow is our first letterboxing treasure hunt named Spooky Harvest Moon at the Fenner Nature Center. Hope we find it!

Oh yeah, was I the only one having trouble with their blog yesterday?!

Oh we LOVE letterboxing! What fun Noah will have with this new hobby. :)
What a perfect way to start your blog...with the life preservers...I am glad you are back home w/ your mom! That must be a sweet feeling!
Love that you are going to be letterboxing...we loved it in Alaska, but have yet to do it here...that might be a good summer activity for us...i hope you get that GPS soon, so you can start the geocaching as a family!
Hugs ♥
Letterboxing and geocaching seem to be popular activities here, although we have yet to try them. Have fun, Noah!
I wish I could throw you a big life preserver, Anet. Please know that my thoughts are with you as you weather life's storms. One day, one week, one month at a time. ((hugs))
Anet, wish I could throw you that life preserver too. Stay positive.
We need to try letterboxing too. I've always thought that sounded like fun.
Take care and thinking of you,
lisa
Hope things are getting better for you. I so hope your husband finds a job. Mine has been wanting to come out of retirement and there is nothing to be had out there.
Thanks Sandy.
He's suppose to get called back in a few weeks. Fingers crossed!!!
It's inspiring to hear about your resilience and positive outlook despite challenging times.
