Oh Baby, it's Cold Outside!

Our first Michigan Winter blizzard...

Perfect for this week's lesson plan: Snowflake Study

We'll be reading The Secret Life of a Snowflake/An Up-close Look at the Art & Science of Snowflakes by Kenneth Libbrecht

Some of the activities we'll be doing this week: Catching & studying snowflakes with a magnify glass, making different styles of paper snowflakes, snowflake art, writing snowflake poems, building a snowman, making snowflake sugar cookies for our Homeschool group's Christmas party and of course after all that freezing cold studying going on we'll have to drink plenty of hot chocolate to warm us up:) This reminds me! We'll have to get our Winter Solstice ice candle made soon. The Solstice is Dec. 21st:) Stay Warm!

Snow Day

Early Morning...

Foot prints in the snow...
No school announced...
Back to my slumber, my warm cozy bed
and snuggle with a soft purring
orange tiger.

Sniffy comes for breakfast on this winter morn.

Snow days, wonderful snow days.

What's up?

Wii fun...

Noah's Mii cracks me up, it looks just like him! Who knew how much fun bowling in your living room could be?!

Cooking Lessons...

Here's Noah learning to peel carrots. He really liked using the peeler and peeled a few too many carrots:) So far we've made a hearty beef stew and chicken chili. Both turn out so yummy, great winter meals.

Our Blurb book arrived.

One of my favorite pages.

My latest knitting project.

Robin's egg blue, my new favorite color! I added some fluffy white snow flakes.
Next project will be some Valentine gifts. It will be here before we know it!
