Megwetch Father... Our Ghost Supper Prayer
Megwetch Father for our past loved ones. We are so grateful for the time that we shared with them on this earth and look forward to being reunited with them in our heavenly home.
We are thankful for the wise and caring elders in our lives. We ask that you bless them with good health and happiness.
Also Father we want to give thanks for the food and nourishment that you so graciously provide us. Thank you for the opportunities that allow us to provide and care for our family.
Thank you for these wonderful children that you have blessed us with and as we thank you for our ancestors we want to give thanks for the beautiful little spirits that will one day join our family and bring great joy.

What a nice prayer- it really sums up the best reasons to celebrate a day of thanks.

Thank you everyone!
We had a wonderful meal and the kids actually enjoyed all my kooky ceremonial stuff we did. :)
I hope you all enjoyed your day!
Haha, "kooky ceremonial stuff." My hat's off to you for rekindling the ceremonies. And your kids will no doubt appreciate it even more as they get older and hopefully continue them with their families.
SO beautiful, this really evokes the melancholic mood I was feeling on Thanksgiving, I just learned that day a friend who has been struggling with lung cancer died, she has a son my daughter's age and a younger son as well.
Thanks Ruth,
We had a very different celebration than usual. I really liked it!

Thank you Lisa Anne,
I am so sorry about the passing of your friend, that is so sad. Makes it even worse with young children involved. Bless their hearts!
Wow. What a wonderful prayer! Happy Thanksgiving a couple days late!
